Take Home Rinse Instructions
Important note: in order to ensure colorfastness, make sure your item has cured in dye for at least 4 hours!
In your laundry rinse tub (or in the yard using the hose), carefully begin running your dyed piece under cold water beginning with the lightest shades. Vigorously squeeze your item underneath the running water. You’ll notice the color run-off starting to become lighter as you work.
Once your color run-off becomes mostly clear, remove your rubber bands.
Your items can now go directly into the washing machine with your desired detergent. Do not wash your freshly dyed items with any other article of clothing.
Keep an eye on the color run-off as it’s leaving the machine, this will give you an idea of how much dye remains in your piece.
When your water is clear, you’re all set to either hang dry or machine dry your items. Your preference.
